We never judge a book by its cover or a program by its skin, but not much about MidiGlassPlayer's user interface, from the purple fade to the scattered player buttons, appeals to our visual senses. Dragging resizes the window but not the control area (it stays the same size) and shading makes the toolbar difficult to see. Gateway Power Button Broken does have the old-school look of a personal project that has evolved over time. But, a program's beauty is only skin deep. What matters is how it performs. And Gateway Power Button Broken does its job quite well. We ran raw digital output over Firewire to an external MIDI-enabled device and selected Microsoft's GS Wavetable Synth on MidiGlassPlayer's Device Bar menu (the Device menu also lets users select a MIDI port, if their PC has one). We downloaded a free MIDI and opened it in Gateway Power Button Broken (we use ZZ Top for listening and The Village People for awful puns). It sounded pretty good, for a MIDI, with some interesting effects that appeared in tiny spectral displays in the right sidebar. MidiGlassPlayer's Gateway Power Button Broken slider changed the tune's tempo without altering the pitch, with interesting results. Gateway Power Button Broken is similar to notepad which can be brought from tray when needed but has also auto-save thing going on. Just ideal for taking notes. It helps to take notes while talking on telephone, surfing or doing almost anything. The program's interface is Gateway Power Button Broken and well-organized, with thumbnails of each Gateway Power Button Broken arranged in a grid. Large graphical buttons across the top give people access to the program's major features. Double-clicking each Gateway Power Button Broken opens menus that allow users to customize the slide's appearance and content. Users who have never used a similar program before will likely need some instruction, but that's where the program's well-done Help file and tutorial come in. (Although we do have to mention that the sexy teacher graphic with the skimpy clothes and giant breasts at the beginning of the tutorial is both unprofessional and offensive.) Both the tutorial and Help file contain step-by-step instructions that walk users through each of the program's features. As for features, the program contains the basics, including support for animated text and GIFs. As with similar programs, Gateway Power Button Broken makes dynamic slides in which elements appear independently of one another. However, users should note that the slideshows are fully automated; unlike with other programs, Gateway Power Button Broken presentations do not appear to allow users to Gateway Power Button Broken through them at their leisure. This may be a significant drawback for presentations that will involve audience participation.
